The 4 candidates and their tfd trainers are still working hard 10 months on! Lib Shaw, Lisa Faircloth, Sam Taylor & Kirsty Leggot have continued to attend the gym and classes regularly since last February when the challenge was set. It’s not all be plain sailing though…….
Lisa Faircloth is being trained by Dave Johnson and said, “I just love coming to the gym and since I’ve started running outside I have achieved even more than I ever thought was possible of myself. My shape has changed, I have muscle definition where I want it and I have so much more self confidence. The 10k run at Blenheim was a success and I completed it in a good time! I’d never have pushed myself that far without the support from Dave and the tfd team.
Sam Taylor is being coached by Dave Archer and told me, "I am really enjoying taking part in the tfd challenge. As I have regular assessments it's good seeing the progress that I am making. Although my fitness level has stayed the same, which is frustrating, everything else is moving in the right direction. When I first started using the treadmill I could only run for one minute sessions with walking in between but this week I ran 5 km in 40 mins, without stopping!!! For me that is a huge achievement. I have seen the inches coming off and also the weight which is encouraging. Dave has been great in his support and is always encouraging me to go that bit further and to get out of my comfort zone. "
Lib Shaw is being motivated by Faye and says, “I just know how good I feel when I’ve been to the gym and been told I’ve lost more size and weight. Sometimes though, it is just so hard to keep going. Faye calls me to remind me about my training sessions and it just takes the decision making out of my own mind. Over the past 3 months I’ve had times when I just wanted to give up and Faye gave me some space but, it was the dedication Faye and the tfd team were putting in to me personally that gave me the kick I needed to get back on track and prove that I really could do it. I’ve now started losing weight again after a slight slow down and am feeling great.
Kirsty Leggot is being motivated by Shauny and says, “Shauny is an inspiration and has continued to push me beyond my limits which has meant I’ve never stopped achieving since February. I love the varied exercises I take part in have not once thought that giving up was an option. My friends and family comment on how well I’m doing and I just feel so alive! I really want to continue once the challenge comes to an end in January as it’s just a way of life now”.
We’ll soon be looking for new candidates to take up the 2008 better body challenge…… so keep a look out for the adverts.
